Zone Intelligence was built by IDENETY MSP, a San Antonio-based managed IT and cybersecurity provider. The scanner was developed to give businesses a fast, free, and honest assessment of their domain security posture — the same checks IDENETY MSP engineers perform during a full IT assessment.

A Zone Intelligence scan typically completes in 30–60 seconds. The scan performs live DNS queries and HTTP requests against your domain, so scan time depends on your domain's DNS TTL and server response time.

Each of the six checks is scored 0–100 based on the number of passing criteria. The overall grade is a weighted average: Email Authentication (25%), DNS Integrity (20%), SSL/TLS Health (20%), Security Headers (20%), Admin Panel Exposure (10%), AI Visibility (5%). Grades: A (90–100), B (75–89), C (60–74), D (45–59), F (0–44).

All Zone Intelligence results are real. The scanner performs live DNS queries (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX records), live HTTP requests (SSL certificate validation, security header inspection, admin path probing), and live AI visibility checks (llms.txt lookup, structured data detection). No results are simulated or estimated.

Zone Intelligence stores scan results only if you provide your email address to receive a PDF report. Anonymous scans (no email) are not stored. If you provide your email, your domain and scan results are stored securely and used only to send your report and follow-up remediation guidance from IDENETY MSP.

No. Zone Intelligence only performs checks that are visible from the public internet — DNS records, public-facing HTTP headers, SSL certificates, and publicly accessible admin paths. It does not scan internal networks, internal systems, or anything behind a firewall.
